Highland Captures Lead Early To Defeat Rough Riders
Rough Riders fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-3 loss to Highland on Wednesday. Highland took the lead on a single in the second inning.
The Rough Riders struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Highland, giving up ten runs.
Highland got on the board in the second inning when Crandall singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Rough Riders tallied three runs in the sixth inning. Hanna Holman, Kelsey Titko, and Laurie Farley each had RBIs in the big inning.
Highland scored five runs in the fourth inning. Highland big bats were led by Crandall, Parker, Pasco, Williams, and Fillinger, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Pasco led things off on the hill for Highland. She lasted three innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out nine and walking zero.
Titko got the start for Rough Riders. She allowed eight hits and nine runs over six innings, striking out one. Adreane Crockett threw one inning out of the bullpen.
Highland smacked two home runs on the day. Williams went yard in the third inning. Auvil had a dinger in the fifth inning.
Riley Pedone, Courtney Kenworthy , Farley, and Holman all had one hit to lead Rough Riders.
Highland racked up ten hits. Kazimour and Williams each racked up multiple hits for Highland. Highland didn’t commit a single error in the field. Fillinger had the most chances in the field with 16.
