The Kent Roosevelt Rough Rider Men took on perennial powerhouse Walsh Jesuit Warriors last night in stanton gymnasium. Having a strong performance for the Riders was Senior middle hitter Sam Smith. Sam scored 10 points, added 11 kills and 5 blocks. Junior Athony Sawyer also helped the cause with 12 kills, 6 points off his jump serve, and good performance in the back row. Senior Captain, Travis Verh kept the team rolling assisting on 25 kills and scoring 7 points.

The Riders pushed Walsh to their limits with scores of 20-25, 25-27, 25-22, and 18-25. With the loss Kent Varsity is now 6-5 on the season after two losses vs. two of the TOP 5 teams in the state.

The JV team beat the Warriors last night in an amazing performance to get their second win of the season. The Riders won 25-16, 25-27, 26-24. Freshman Clay Smith and Tanner McKnown had an excellent performance for their team. Tanner jump served the final two points of the deciding match!!

Both teams are in action again tonight away vs. Stow starting at 6:00pm. Come on out again to watch some GREAT VOLLEYBALL!
