It was Senior Night tonight at the home of the Rough Riders this evening and the Riders gave all in attendance quite a show. Play was slow in the first two games with the Riders losing the first two sets 18-25, 15-25, but in the third set with great defense by Sophomore Nathan Montanari and Seniors Sam Smith and Tyler McKown getting going on the offensive end Kent took the set 25-17.
The fourth set saw a great offensive attack and serving effort putting the Riders ahead 25-15. The final set closed out with an out of bounds hit by the Brecksville Bees to seal the 15-13 win for the Rough Riders. Finishing with 35 assists and 5 kills was Senior Travis Verh. Nathan Montanari also added 9 blocks and 8 kills.
Kent JV team lost 0-2 to the Bees, which puts them at 3-15 for the year. The 11-5 Rough Riders are back in action on Wednesday for their final home game vs. the Jackson Polar Bears.
