After 26 baker games; the Tomahawk Invitational crowns Roosevelt Roughriders as champions! Averaging 200.5 in the 1st 14 baker game qualifier, the Kent team was in 4th place going into the stepladder format. Top 8 play-off for the championship, with best 3 out of 5 baker games to move on. It took 5 games to knock off 5th seed Twinsburg, while 8th seed Cuyahoga Falls defeated top seed Fairport Harbor in 5 as well. Kent dropped the Tigers in 4 games to advance to the finals. On the other side of the draw 2nd seed Woodridge topped 7th seed Copley rolling a 299 game in their quest, with 3rd seed Nordonia taking down the 6th seed Springfield Spartans. Woodridge bested Nordonia to meet Kent in the final round.The riders were focused and firing on all cylinders, with the 7 man rotation taking down the Bulldogs in 3 straight. 236 to 186, 254 to 216 , and 206 to 185 to claim victory and the championship. Averaging 201.3 in the stepladders and 200.65 overall for the 26 games, proves the consistency of spare shooting and keeping out of trouble and putting the shot in play was key to our success. 5 Tournaments – 4 Championships and one 2nd place; these gentlemen are rocking it! WAY TO GO !!!
