The Kent Roosevelt-Ravenna football rivalry is one of the state’s most respected. It dates back to 1911 and has impacted countless families over the decades. When the Rough Riders host the Ravens this season on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, it will mark the 100th all-time meeting the between the two schools in the historic rivalry.
The boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Spartan Invitational in Boardman on Saturday. Top varsity boys finishers were Nathaniel Bailey and Andrew Murray. The top junior varsity finisher was Alex ODaniel. The girls varsity team was lead by Kaylie Murray and Lexi Patz. The top junior varsity finisher was Spencer Hayes.

On Saturday the Women’s Soccer team traveled to Twinsburg and came out with a hard earned tie. The girls came back from an early 3 goal deficit on 3 goals from Kayla Fischer to tie 3-3 while Keeley Leising had two assist. Congratulations to the Women’s Soccer Team as they completed their game against Aurora by winning 3-1. Scoring for the ladies were Keeley Leising and Kayla Fischer with 2 goals. They also assisted on each others goals. There was excellent work out of the midfield as well as they set up the girls for the goals.
