James Rubish threw a complete game victory with 7 strikeouts to earn his second victory. Derek Knapp’s sixth inning sac fly broke a 4-4 tie and Phil Kaderle’s 2-run Double pushed the lead to 8-4. Dean Gray and Bryan McKown had 2 hits apiece and Alonzo Spears had a triple and two singles driving in 2 runs. Barberton’s Headrick, Murphy, and Chisnell collected two singles each.

Meet Recap

This past Tuesday, the Boy’s Kent Roosevelt Rough Riders beat Revere High School by a score of 74 to 65. The team also had a strong showing at the Walsh Relays. The Sprint Medley of Tre Richardson, Tarron Fields, Desmond Scott, and Ryan Grant took first place. The 4×100 team of Kelvon Blackmon, Tarron Fields, Tre Richardson, and Desmond Scott took 2nd place. Matthew Perison took 3rd place in the 300 meter hurdles and Desmond Scott took 3rd place in the 100 meter dash. The Rough Riders will travel to Barberton this Thursday for a league meet.

Game Recap

Roosevelt won a Division 2 Northeast Regional game against Louisville High School Friday night 16-5. Roosevelt came out on fire scoring seven seconds into the game and taking a 7-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Riders moved the ball well all night as nine of their 16 goals were assisted. Nic Mitov led the attack with seven goals and one assist. Zach Adair added four goals and one assist while Kyle Patrick had two goals and two assists. The face off unit was dominant again led by Noah McCarty, Will Kulis, Sam Bennett, Parker Selden, Eli McCarty and Adam Fertig. The defense played well all night limiting a strong Louisville offense to just five goals. Roosevelt returns to action Tuesday night for a home game against Brunswick High School. Face off is set for 7:00 PM.

Game Recap

The Riders opened the season with an 11-9 victory over visiting Wooster High School. Roosevelt was down 5-4 at halftime and exploded with six third quarter goals to take the lead and never look back. Roosevelt was led by Zach Adair and Kyle Patrick who each had three goals and one assist. Logan Weber also added three goals. Noah McCarty was dominant on face offs all evening and ended with 11 ground balls and one goal. Will Kulis also played well at face off spot as Roosevelt held a 16-8 edge on face offs. Sam Bennett picked up seven ground balls. The defense was led by Colton Abell, Noah Deucher, Ross Adair, Eli McCarty, Adam Fertig, and goalie Ethan Campbell who had 11 saves on the night. Roosevelt heads to Louisville Friday for a 7:30 game.
